Accessibility Statement

Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The site has not had a formal accessibility audit, and we do not claim that it fully meets the standard. This page says what has been checked and what we know still falls short.
What we've done
- Every page has a “Skip to content” link, which is 44 pixels tall and appears when you press Tab, and a visible focus outline for keyboard users.
- The animations follow your device's reduced-motion setting: with it on, they are switched off.
- On 9 October 2026 every public page and the sign-in page were checked at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, in an automated Chromium browser with touch turned on and in WebKit, the engine behind Safari. No page scrolls sideways, body text is 16 pixels, and form fields are large enough that iPhones don't zoom in when you tap them.
- On touch screens, buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, apart from the exceptions below.
- Against the page background, body text measures about 17:1, the grey secondary text 8.4:1 and the faintest small print 5.4:1, all above the 4.5:1 that WCAG AA asks for.
Known limitations
- In the record crate on the home page, the tilted records either side of the centre one are narrow targets; the centre record is the full-size one.
- The “Wikipedia” and licence links inside an album's credit line are small text links. A full-size Wikipedia button sits just below them.
- The faintest grey text drops to about 4.4:1, just under 4.5:1, where it sits on the lightest panel colour, for example the highlighted row in the search menu.
- The checks used automated browsers, not real phones, and no screen reader was tested.
- Album covers in the form's search results have no text description; the album title and artist are written next to each one.
